Payment Terms

Payment is required on completion of service, usually at the end of the day.  For a longer contract, satisfactory terms will be agreed upon. I accept credit card (PayPal), cheque, eTransfer, or cash.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. Both myself and the client have the right to cancel the contract due to unforeseen circumstances.  I do not “charge” for a session cancelled by a client. However, I appreciate being notified if you will be unable to keep your scheduled appointment. Relationships of trust and integrity mean treating others as you wish to be treated – with courtesy and respect.

Travelling

I am based in south Victoria. Generally, the area served is within 5 or so  kilometres of the downtown core.  If you live outside of this area, I’ll discuss time and mileage rates that may apply.

Expenses & Access

At the time of confirming my mini-decluttering service, please advise of any issues surrounding access or additional expenses likely to incur. An example is No Parking in the area or metered parking.

Breaks & Refreshments

You will not be billed for this time nor will you be expected to provide food or beverages.

Removal of Items

I will generally not be responsible for removing clutter at the end of the session(s). You will be provided with resources on how to dispose of your unwanted items.

Confidentiality and Privacy

I offer a fully confidential & professional service and will not divulge any client information, nor any personal or business details whatsoever to a third party without your approval.

Photography & Testimonials

You may be asked if you would mind having “before” & “after” photographs taken, for use in my portfolio, website or other advertising (anonymously, of course, unless you give your approval to having your name attached to the photos). I also value any testimonials you can provide about the benefits of my service.  I may use this statement on my website or in other marketing material (with your name attached). Signing this form means that you have agreed to these uses of your information.

Best Advice disclaimer

Any advice is given in good faith. It will always be your decision whether to accept guidance on whether or not to keep particular possessions. I, therefore, cannot accept responsibility for your actions nor the consequences of such decisions.

Handling Goods  

During the work, you as the client will be present. When I handle goods belonging to clients, I take great care to look after them. Unfortunately, accidents may occur. I shall not be liable for losses or damage, however so caused, and rely on you to carry insurance at all times which adequately compensates you for losses or damage, however so caused, by me in my capacity as your agent.

Value

I am not an evaluator, nor estimator.  I do not have expertise to identify works of art or items of special value or rarity. Nor am I qualified to advise on valuation matters for insurance purposes.

Working practices

I am very happy to help you achieve the state of organization and tidiness you expect at the end of our session(s). I am happy to undertake some light cleaning to assist the decluttering and reorganizing process, but please note that I do not provide a cleaning service. If this is required, I will, of course, be happy to suggest a company who does.  I cannot move or lift very large items of furniture for Health and Safety reasons. If this is required, it may be sensible to arrange a willing volunteer.

Removal of items/ Green policy

I aim to promote recycling of your possessions wherever suitable and can offer advice on different options for appropriate disposal or sale. Any items removed from your property are, in general, done so at your own discretion and by yourself.

Other suppliers or services

I am happy to make suggestions on the use of additional services, for example, cleaners or handypersons, and can help to arrange these services. However, I will not be held liable if their performance falls below an acceptable standard nor for any loss or damage caused by any supplier, it’s employees or agents. Suppliers’ charges are payable by you directly.
